Game Introduction

Timerunner is an open-world action-adventure RPG centered around the "Time Folding" mechanic. Players assume the role of interstellar explorer "Layla Knox," who crash-lands on an alien planet named "Crysell" after a jump-drive malfunction. The planet is torn apart by mysterious "Time Rifts," where past, present, and future intertwine across the same landscape. The player's mission is to repair the rifts before the countdown to "Cosmic Collapse" ends, while uncovering the truth behind the rise and fall of Crysell's civilization. The game blends Metroidvania-style area unlocking, Roguelike loops, and light survival elements, supporting both single-player immersion and cooperative multiplayer for up to 4 players.

Game Features

- Dynamic Time Folding System
Seamlessly switch any scene between three time phases: "Present," "1 Hour Ago," and "7 Days Later." Terrain, enemies, and NPC states instantly reconfigure with each phase, creating "Time Mazes" that allow for freeform puzzle-solving, combat, or resource gathering.

- Universal Jump-Pack
A foldable micro-ship serves as both a mobile base and a "Time Compression Engine." Once deployed, players can enter the "Jump Pod" to reconfigure equipment, refine resources, and set spatiotemporal coordinates for the next jump.

- Molecular Weapon Forging
Collect "Chrono Fragments" dropped by enemies to reshape weapons at the pack's workbench: from plasma whips to gravitational collapse grenades, all support real-time modifications—switching firing modes, adding elemental attributes, or even embedding time-slowing modules.

- Ecosystem Improvisation Engine
Planetary lifeforms evolve autonomously based on a "Food Web AI": if players hunt an ancestral species in the past, that species may go extinct in the future timeline, giving rise to new apex predators. Each loop introduces distinct ecological variations, leading to unique encounters.

- Multi-Ending Narrative Matrix
The main story includes five parallel plotlines, with endings determined by the player's degree of temporal intervention in key events. New Game+ unlocks "Paradox Archives," allowing players to re-experience the same timeline from an antagonist's perspective.

Gameplay

  1. Time Phase Puzzle-Solving
In canyon levels, players must switch to the "Past" phase to cross chasms using intact suspension bridges, then activate energy terminals on broken bridges in the "Future" phase to unlock paths in the "Present." All puzzles are designed with "reversible causality," requiring no fixed sequence.

  1. Real-Time Tactical Combat
Hold L2 to enter "Bullet Time" and mark multiple enemies; releasing the button makes the character teleport to all marked points within one second to execute slashes. If enemies are equipped with "Time Shields," players must first switch time phases to disable the shields before attacking.

  1. Jump Loop Progression
Each death or voluntary jump returns players to the "Archive Satellite" in orbit. All blueprints and modification progress are retained, but the planet's surface regenerates based on the player's actions in the previous loop. Accumulate "Cosmic Knowledge Levels" through repeated jumps to unlock higher-tier tech trees and hidden areas.

  1. Multiplayer Time Resonance
In online co-op, the squad leader can activate "Team Phase Jump" to pull all members into the same time phase. Teammates can also independently switch phases, opening mechanisms or providing future intel from alternate timelines to enable cross-dimensional coordination.
