Following the occupation of Heimdallr by the Noble Faction, civil war has erupted across Erebonia. Provincial armies loyal to the aristocracy and the Four Great Houses, operating under the banner of the Noble Alliance, have seized control of numerous major cities across the nation.

After escaping Trista with Celine and Valimar, Rean awakens in the mountains near his hometown, uncertain of what fate has befallen his friends from Class VII who valiantly bought him time to escape at great personal cost. As the Imperial Army, recalled from the empire's four corners, begins its full-scale counteroffensive, the path ahead is fraught with peril. Yet, Rean decides to take up his sword once more. Together with the Divine Knight Valimar, he journeys across Erebonia to find his scattered classmates and seek a way to end the conflict before its devastating cost becomes irreversible.
