Game Overview

TRIALS of MANA is a full remake of the classic 1995 action RPG "Seiken Densetsu 3". Developed and published by Square Enix, it was released worldwide on April 24, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).

Story Background

The game is set in a fantasy world where the power of "Mana" is waning. Legend tells of a Goddess who saved the world by defeating eight Mana Beasts with the "Mana Sword" and sealing them within "Mana Stones". However, ambitious forces now seek to unleash the Mana Beasts to obtain the forbidden power to dominate the world. As the world's balance is threatened once more, six heroes of different origins and goals embark on an adventure that will decide the fate of the world.

Key Features

- Six Heroes, Three Storylines: Choose one of six characters as your protagonist and select two companions. Depending on the main hero, the narrative unfolds along one of three distinct storylines, each confronting a different antagonist, ultimately revealing the truth of the world.
- Revitalized 3D Graphics & Remastered Music: The game has been completely rebuilt with full 3D graphics, with characters, environments, and battle effects reimagined using modern technology. All music has been supervised and rearranged by the original composer, Yoko Shimomura.
- High-Speed Action Combat System: While retaining the original's combat pace, new actions like dodging and skill combos have been introduced, enabling a more free-form and strategic real-time battle experience.
- Deep Character Progression: Upon reaching certain levels, characters can undergo a "Class Change", choosing different profession paths to acquire unique skills and abilities, allowing for personalized combat styles.
- New Game+ Experience: After clearing the game, "New Game+" mode is unlocked, allowing players to carry over certain progression elements and experience other protagonists' stories to explore all narrative paths.
