Game Introduction
Universe Sandbox is a cosmic simulation game series developed by Giant Army. Built upon a realistic physics engine, the game allows players to create, observe, and explore various celestial phenomena within a virtual universe. Players can freely create celestial bodies such as stars, planets, and moons, adjusting their mass, velocity, and orbital parameters to observe their trajectories and interactions under gravitational forces. The game blends scientific education with entertainment, making complex astrophysical concepts visually intuitive. Both astronomy enthusiasts and casual players can experience the vastness and mystery of the cosmos.
Game Features
- Realistic Physics Simulation: Utilizes physical formulas such as Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation for real-time calculations. Gravitational interactions, orbital motions, collisions, and mergers between celestial bodies all adhere to scientific principles.
- Extensive Celestial Library: Includes detailed data for real celestial bodies such as the eight planets of the Solar System, numerous moons, asteroids, and comets. Players can also create custom celestial bodies according to their imagination.
- Spectacular Astronomical Events: Simulate and observe breathtaking astronomical phenomena like solar eclipses, lunar eclipses, planetary impacts, and stellar explosions.
- Multi-Star System Simulation: Supports the creation of complex multi-star systems, such as binary and trinary star systems, allowing observation of their chaotic yet beautiful gravitational dances.
- Time and Space Scaling: Freely adjust the flow of time, from observing annual changes in Earth's orbit to witnessing the billion-year evolution of galactic collisions.
- Data Visualization: Displays real-time physical data for celestial bodies, including mass, velocity, orbital parameters, and temperature, helping players understand astronomical concepts.
Gameplay
Upon entering the game, players can choose to load a preset Solar System model as a starting point or build their own universe from scratch. In edit mode, players can place various celestial bodies, set their mass, initial position, velocity, and adjust parameters like gravitational strength. Through the observation panel, players can monitor the motion and physical data of any celestial body in real-time. The game offers multiple preset scenarios for players to experience, such as simulating an asteroid impact on Earth, observing the merger of two galaxies, or creating a Dyson Sphere around a star. Players can also export simulations as videos or images to capture those awe-inspiring cosmic moments. Additionally, the game supports VR mode, allowing players to immerse themselves in the starry sky for a more engaging cosmic exploration experience.
