Game Introduction

XuanYuan Sword is a single-player role-playing game developed by Softstar Entertainment Inc. and released on October 13, 1990. It is the inaugural title of the XuanYuan Sword series, with its direct single-player sequel being XuanYuan Sword II. The story is set in an era where humans, gods, and demons coexist. A swordsman wielding the XuanYuan Sword leads the resistance against the demon army, ultimately perishing alongside them. Sixteen years later, the protagonist Yan Chixia, son of the XuanYuan Swordsman, embarks on a journey to investigate the truth. This title was Softstar Entertainment Inc.'s first RPG, pioneering the genre of classical Chinese-themed games. It features modern, rhythmic Chinese music and stands as a model for Chinese game aesthetics, breaking new ground for domestically developed games at the time.

After Pangu separated heaven and earth, the world was initially ruled only by the divine and demonic realms under the governance of the Gods of Good and Evil. It was only after Nüwa created humanity that an era of coexistence between humans, gods, and demons began. Initially, human activity was limited, and they lived in harmony with the gods and demons. However, the rapid expansion and extensive development by humans gradually encroached upon the living space of the gods and demons. This aggressive behavior ultimately enraged the divine and demonic realms. The Evil God, who embodies malevolent thoughts, and the demons under its command resolved to annihilate humanity. Yet, opposition from the Good God, who embodies benevolent thoughts, prevented the Evil God from realizing its ambition, allowing humanity to narrowly avoid a cataclysm.

After several millennia of peace, the demons suddenly launched an attack on humanity one day.
