Game Introduction

Bully: Scholarship Edition is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Vancouver and published by Rockstar Games, released on Xbox 360 and Wii platforms in 2008. This title is an enhanced version of the 2006 original PS2 game. Set in a private boarding school named Bullworth Academy, players take on the role of 15-year-old troublemaker Jimmy Hopkins, embarking on a unique adventure within this micro-society filled with teenage rebellion and schoolyard politics.

The game masterfully blends Rockstar's signature open-world design philosophy with a school-life setting. Through a humorous and satirical narrative style, it explores the various conflicts and contradictions of adolescent growth. The Scholarship Edition features comprehensive upgrades over the original, including enhanced visuals, additional new missions, a complete class attendance system, and a wealth of new content, delivering a richer gameplay experience.

Game Features

Unique School-Life Setting: The game uses a private boarding school as its stage, breaking away from the traditional urban or wilderness backdrops of open-world games. The entire campus becomes a freely explorable micro-society, featuring diverse locations like classrooms, dormitories, playgrounds, and libraries, each with unique NPC behavior patterns and interactive elements.

Rich Character Social System: Players can befriend members of various cliques on campus, including nerds, jocks, greasers, and more. Each clique has its own members and turf. By completing tasks and building relationships, players can gain different skill upgrades and receive support in the form of special items.

Diverse Class Activities: The Scholarship Edition introduces a complete class attendance system. Players can attend classes in subjects like Math, Biology, Chemistry, Music, and Art. Completing classes not only earns credits but also unlocks special abilities and gameplay advantages.

Humorous and Satirical Narrative Style: The game employs dark humor to satirize social phenomena such as bullying, teacher-student relationships, and teenage rebellion. The storyline features dramatic conflicts alongside laugh-out-loud comedic moments.

Enhanced Visuals: The Scholarship Edition received graphical upgrades for the new platforms, including higher-resolution textures, more detailed character models, and improved lighting and shadow effects.

Gameplay

Free Exploration & Mission System: Players can freely roam the campus, exploring various buildings and areas. The game combines a main story mission structure with side activities. Main missions drive the narrative forward, while side activities include diverse content like paper routes, part-time jobs, and pranks.

Combat & Fighting System: The game features a comprehensive melee combat system where players can learn different fighting styles such as boxing and wrestling. Through continuous fighting and completing missions, Jimmy can improve his attributes and abilities, unlocking more powerful combo moves.

Gang Management & Faction Rivalry: Multiple rival gangs exist on campus. Players need to expand their influence gradually through combat and strategy. Controlling different areas of the school grants resource advantages and access to special missions.

Time & Schedule Management: The game utilizes a schedule system where different activities and events occur based on the time of day and day of the week. Players must manage their time wisely, balancing attending classes, completing assignments, and participating in gang activities.

Pranks & Creative Mayhem: Core to the "bully" theme, players can use various items and methods to pull pranks, including slingshots, water balloons, and fireworks. These elements add a lighthearted and fun atmosphere to the game.
