Game Introduction

Project Winter is a social deduction and survival multiplayer game developed by Other Ocean Interactive. Set in the frigid Antarctic ice fields, the game follows a group of survivors stranded at a remote research station. They must work together to gather supplies, repair equipment, and send a distress signal to ultimately escape the frozen wilderness. However, hidden among the survivors are mysterious traitors with sinister intentions, aiming to sabotage the rescue efforts. Players must navigate the delicate balance between trust and suspicion, surviving through a constant interplay of cooperation and betrayal.

Game Features

- Social Deduction Mechanics: The core feature revolves around psychological gameplay between players. Survivors must observe others' behaviors and conversational details to identify trustworthy allies, while traitors must conceal their identities and secretly undermine the group's plans.
- Realistic Survival Environment: Players must endure the harsh, freezing conditions, managing survival pressures such as dropping body temperature, hunger, and thirst. Finding food and water to maintain character status is essential.
- Open-World Exploration: The game offers a vast, snowy map to explore, featuring diverse terrains like abandoned research stations, ice caves, forests, and snowfields. Each area contains different types of resources and mission objectives.
- Voice Chat System: With built-in voice chat and a rich array of emotes and gestures, players can communicate, lie, or create chaos through voice and expressions, greatly enhancing social interaction and deception opportunities.
- Varied Role Specializations: Different roles come with unique skills and attributes. Players can choose appropriate role configurations based on team needs, adding strategic depth to gameplay.

Gameplay

At the start of each match, 8 players are assigned as either 5 survivors or 2–3 traitors (the exact number depends on the total player count). Survivors must search the map for parts and resources, completing tasks such as repairing communication devices, collecting fuel, and activating generators to secure rescue. Each task requires time and teamwork, but traitors will seize opportunities to sabotage objectives, cut communications, or even directly attack survivors. Survivors can earn clue points by completing minor tasks, which can be used at critical moments to reveal other players' identities. Traitors, on the other hand, can employ disguises, traps, and ambushes to eliminate survivors while avoiding exposure. The game ends when all survivors are rescued, all survivors perish, or all traitors are uncovered. This blend of cooperation and betrayal ensures each match is filled with suspense and tension, requiring players to remain vigilant and constantly choose between trust and suspicion.
